MVP organizes workshop for teachers

Mrs Beatrice Boakye-Ansah Prempeh, the Amansie West District Director of Education, has said education as a tool for the socio-economic development of every country.

He has therefore appealed to teachers to consider in-service training courses as important to upgrade their skills and knowledge to ensure effective teaching and learning in schools.

Mrs Prempeh was addressing 190 primary and kindergarten teachers at the end of a two-day sensitization workshop organized by Millennium Village Project (MVP) at Manso-Bonsaaso in the Amansie West District. The workshop was designed to update their skills in the teaching and learning of English and mathematics. She commended the efforts of the MVP to raise education standard in the area and advised the participants to take advantage of the opportunity to enhance their performances in teaching. Mr Peter Afoakwa Asante, the Millennium Development Project Education Coordinator, said under the Project a six-unit classroom block each would be constructed for Jumekro, Adagaa, Yaw Kesakrom, Aboaboso and Hiamankwa communities.
