Nana Joseph Ackesson, Odikro of Atabourso in Techiman municipality, has presented school uniforms valued at 1.9 million cedis to 19 pupils of the Atabourso Local Authority Primary School.

He told the Ghana News Agency that the gesture was part of his contribution to the education of needy but brilliant pupils and to help raise the standard of education in the area.

Nana Ackesson, who is Techiman Municipal President of the Africa Reforestation Union, appealed to parents to view the education of their children as their investment for the future and to take advantage of the capitation grant.

Mr Stephen Takyi, assembly member for Bamiri electoral area who received the uniforms for the pupils commended the donor for his gesture.

He entreated the beneficiaries to take the gesture as a motivation to study harder. Mr. Takyi appealed to philanthropists to come to the aid of the pupils to perform better in education.
