The Dunwell Methodist Church at Dichemso in Kumasi has instituted an educational scholarship scheme to support needy children and underprivileged youth of the church in their career development.

The scheme was necessitated by the church’s commitment to meeting
its social obligations.

For a start, two Junior High School (JHS) students who graduated recently are to benefit from the scheme to continue their education at the Senior High School.

Launching the scheme at a ceremony in Kumasi at the weekend, the Right-Reverend Ben Nuh Abubekr, Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, commended the Church for the initiative and hoped it would be sustained for the benefit of the members.

He asked members to contribute generously towards the fund to ensure that more needy children benefited from it.

Rt.Rev. Abubekr entreated Christians to lead their lives in accordance with the tenets of the Bible for the growth of Christendom.
