The Ghana National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has threatened to go on strike if their frozen salaries were not paid.
They have also called for the general improvement in the conditions of service of their members and teachers as a whole.
They say government has from now till October 3 to meet their demands, else members will advise themselves.
Speaking to a JOY correspondent in their annual congress currently underway in Koforidua, Vice President of the Association, Christian Adai-Poku said members have come out with a resolution, demanding “the unconditional release of their frozen salaries after embarking on strike some two years ago."
He claimed their members have been unfairly treated since no other workers group in the history of the country had their salaries frozen, despite going on strike.
When his attention was drawn to a court declaration that their strike was illegal and warranted the freezing of the salaries, Mr. Adai-Poku said the court asked its members to call off the strike and not for their salaries to be frozen.
He also described as unacceptable the many deductions from the salaries of its members and called on the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to remedy the anomalies.
