Many music enthusiasts will be etremely glad to know that Kwadee, the enterprising hiplife artiste, is well again after some traumatising experiences which have kept him away from his fans for a while now.

He has truly been missed.

Show business everywhere has some inherent pressures and dangers. Practitioners are often in the limelight and rightly or wrongly, feel pressured to live up to certain expectations.

The desire to appear hip and thus turning to the use of drugs has derailed and even curtailed many promising careers.

It is common to see hiplife artistes in clothes bearing marijuana insignia. These young guys may argue that a visual depiction of the weed does not necessarily imply usage but what is the sense in glorifying an object you abhor? Music is not ganja.

Kwadee’s admission that he abused drugs, which we believe contributed to the agonizing moments he has been through, should serve as a warning to his friends, especially the musicians.

Using drugs has never been a means to achieving creative excellence. We can rather enumerate a tall list of young creative persons who have done themselves in by using drugs.

We wish Kwadee well and hope he will soon pull himself up for even greater stuff. We will listen out for his first post-trauma release.
