WITH A blend of drums, flutes, bells and bass with a dash of horns, the music lover would not hesitate to sample out Della Botri’s latest album, “Tabariyiba”.

Not to pass it as a latest album to be launched soon, it is amazing how people are now rushing to grab copies.
The album which is a blend of Northern, Ewe and Twi languages is wonderfully crafted.

The combinations are superbly done with propulsive rhythms sounding like traditional instrumental pieces.

“Tabayiriba”, though Della’s first album, has elevated African music to the international level, after gaining grounds in Germany, Canada, USA and other countries.

Della’s work has transcended cultures and is about to supersede songs that hit in Ghana and Germany and were sold to millions across the globe.

When Beatwaves caught up with him at the Goethe Institut he revealed that he began his music career in 1979 with a bell and rattle.

He came to realise his potential and started playing his lovely instruments.

On the performance of musicians in the country, the Germany-based musician said Ghanaians do not appreciate the good work done by musicians in the country.

According to him, Ghanaians did not cherish the potentials in society and therefore resorted to criticisms at the least mistake.
He urged government to prioritise music lessons in schools to serve as a foundation for music students.

“I am not afraid of piracy as it has been the headache of most musicians, because one thing I know is that my music is not common in the country but a hit in Germany and other European countries,” he stated.

As one of the famous flute players in the country and a former music lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Della Botri who was once with the “Hewale Soundz” has several awards to his credit.
