One upcoming hiplife artiste, Nana Kwabena Sekyere, known in hiplife circles as Don King has declared his intention to use his music career to help society.

Don King has pledged to support the Vice President’s initiative of fighting against indiscipline in society through musical concerts.

According to him, many years ago so much value was placed on respect in the Ghanaian society but the situation had changed now and everybody did what pleased him or her.

Don King, who shot his way onto the music scene two years ago with his maiden album Kotogye, said he is currently working on his second album, titled Kotofa.

“I am working closely with Queen Care International, a Brekum-based non governmental organization which handles issues of child neglect, as well as Media Promotions and Consultancy, a music production, event and artistes management company which I have mandated to work on my projects.”

Don King has contributed immensely towards a number of projects being undertaken by Queen Care International, headed by the queenmother of Kato, Nana Afia Siraa Ababio III.

The album comprises of nine songs of different Ghanaian music genres and two instrumentals.

The interesting thing about his new album is that its promotion had not yet started but a few radio presenters who have listened to some of the tracks on it have predicted its boom on radio.

With several songs unreleased under his belt, Don King is poised to be one of the best artistes in the coming years.

Beatwaves had the opportunity to listen to Kotofa’s mesmerizing beats and well-thought and chosen lyrics and concludes that indeed it would send people to the dance floor.

“I want my fans to have patience for me because I’m coming out with more ‘Kotofa’ style.
Don King’s new album features more artistes.

His ability to move audiences with his live musical performances is very encouraging. Many music fans saw him live on stage at Music Music and it was too hot to handle.

Whatever his audiences want he makes sure he gives it to them.
Don King disclosed that Media Promotions would host a live concert early next year to celebrate his success in the field of music and also to thank his fans for staying close to him through the years.

The concert, which has been dubbed “Celebrating Don King” is scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre, where Don King would perform all of his compositions, backed by a twelve-member band.
