Ghanaian artistes to perform in the UK

Last year saw the birth of the Hiplife Music Festival and despite some skepticism seven top hiplife artistes from Ghana went to perform live at Stratford Rex, London.

This event became one of the most memorable occasions on the Ghanaian music calendar in the UK.

Now, Alordia Promotions, in association with Risky Promotions, West Coast Entertainment and Abrantie Promotions returns once again with Hiplife Festival 2007, which coincides with the Ghana@50 celebrations and the celebration of 10 years of the birth of the Hiplife Music genre.

The event promises to be the biggest Ghanaian music celebration this year and would feature live PA’s from Hiplife royalty such as and a special guest artiste (the Hiplife Don Dada).

Rapping from the ladies’ side would be Abrewa Nana and Manye Mercy (formerly of Triple M fame). UK support would come from Sonny Bali, Candy Man, Sonny Achiba, House of Lords, Frankie Boy and Roman Fathers.

There would as well be a comedy set from the funniest man in Ghana - the one and only Agya Koo.

The event would be hosted by E.D.D.I.E and Dentaa from OBE and DJ’s on the night include Alordia & Skoobi (Hot 9000), Abrantie (Choice FM), DJ Makossa (Rainbow Radio), French Kiss, Big L (Oops/Manjaro) and DJ Amita (Rainbow Radio). Clarke Pintoa and Daddy Fingers would be the M.C.’s for the night.

The musical fiesta would take place on Saturday August 25, 2007 and all roads would lead to The Coronet Theatre, 28 New Kent Road, Elephant & Castle, London, SE1 6TJ. Doors open at 10pm and the jam continues till 6am.
