The Copyright Administrator, Bernard K. Bosomprah has declared that Metro TV has no right to distribute royalties to musicians since there was a collective society tasked to collect royalties on behalf of musicians and composers.

Explaining, he said if Metro TV had royalties to pay, it should pay it to the collective society, of which the artistes are members.

He accused the TV station of using video clips which had been paid for by producers to advertise products of various companies on its network.

Bernard Bosomprah said Metro TV has an obligation to pay for music used for its Adverting Cycle.

“They are the same people advocating good life for musicians, but are not doing the right thing,” he said.
