Esther Ama Domsurima, one of the contestants in the Miss Malaika 2007 beauty pageant was last Friday declared the first evictee in this year’s pageant.

Esther, who described herself as the ‘determined monkey’ had her eyes on the crown, the car, the title, the glamour as well as the prestige of becoming the next Miss Malaika queen.

Aside her quest to fight illegal abortion alongside working with the National Malaria Control Board, fans would perhaps remember her mostly for her daring moves at the launch of the pageant.

However, it appears that for a pageant such as Miss Malaika Ghana, a delegate can never be sure of what the general public is looking out for in a wannabe queen.

It turned out that Esther received the lowest number of votes from the public, making last Friday September 15 the end of her journey to stardom.

During the eviction night one of the contestants, Francisca was one of the striking delegates in the competition.

She had an unusual hairdo and was the only delegate who excited the crowd with her confident catwalk and daring poses for the cameras.

Come Sunday, another contestant would be evicted and the question is, “Who will it be this time?

Still in the competition are Deborah, Nana Yaa, Nana Aba, Leila, Millicent, Barbara, Chantelle, Laurie, Dzifa, Ivy, Amina, Francisca, Akosua, Oswella and Helena.

Miss Malaika 2007 is being sponsored by MTN and supported by Unique Trust Financial Services, Rana Motors, GTV, South African Airways, BO 16 and Forever Easy.
