Ghanaian born international reggae star Shasha Marley and his eight piece all star international band are billed to perform at various venues in Australia for the first time between September 27 and October 14 this year.
The tour will launch the Limited Edition of his latest CD Lost & Found with nationwide distribution through Fuse music.
Accompanied by the all-star band of international musicians, Shasha left the country last week to start preparations for the tour.
Shasha Marley is an exciting and dynamic reggae artist who burst onto the African reggae scene with a voice that is now captivating audiences worldwide.
Growing up in Ghana, Shasha was inspired by such greats as Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, the Commodores, Fela Ransom Kuti and many others.
He was also profoundly influenced by the dedication, personal sacrifice and courage of Nelson Mandela.
During the first Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in Ghana, Sasha stole the show with a performance that tore the house down and greatly impressed international visitors. It was this performance which launched him out into the wider world.
Shasha led fifteen top Ghanaian artists in an all star musical collaboration, produced via the sponsorship of the Johns Hopkins University, as a benefit against HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Truly a musician with heart, he has been at the fore front of the war against HIV/AIDS. Shasha uses his music to break down the stigma of the disease, travelling from village to village and deliberately embracing the sick and those orphaned because of the epidemic.
Shasha travelled to Jamaica to negotiate with The Wailers to perform on his most recent album Lost & Found.
The producer for the project was George Kouakou, once the producer for Alpha Blondy, but now the keyboard player for The Wailers. Shasha`s latest album has been described as `the kind of music that would lift the soul of the depressed and bring hope to the hopeless` and has received rave reviews throughout the world.
Recorded with the Wailers Band and featuring Junior Marvin, it`s a powerful a statement of contemporary reggae and social awareness that one is ever likely to hear.
So far Shasha Marley has not relented in his pursuit to make a difference through the powerful message of his songs and his constantly uplifting live performances.
