When one talks about good radio presenters in Ghana, there are a number of good ones in the ancient city of Ghana, Cape Coast.

One presenter whose name is on the lips of both the young and the old is Daniel Yaw Mawutor Adjabeng popularly called “The Spiritual Messenger” who works with Eagle FM, a campus based radio station of Cape Coast Polytechnic.

Yaw Adjabeng was born on 17th November 1977 to Mr. James Adjabeng and Miss Beatrice Addo both workers of University Printing Press in the University of Cape Coast.

Yaw started his basic education at Self Reliance KG and University Primary all in Cape Coast, from there he moved to Amedzofe in the Volta region for his Junior Secondary School now Junior High School. He completed his Senior Secondary School at Mfatsipim School in Cape Coast.

He undertook Building Construction Technician Courses Part 1 and 2. Aside this, he gained Admission into Takoradi Polytechnic but he refused and took an appointment as a pupil teacher for about four years.

Yaw is currently a level 300 Bachelor of Education in Health Physical Education and Recreation (HYPER) in University of Cape Coast.

“I had inspiration of becoming a radio presenter after listening to some recorded programmes of my cousin Senyo Adjabeng who was then working with Spirit FM in Kumasi. After attending a workshop for would-be presenters and getting basic skills in radio from Russell Berko Gyan “Wasgome”, I started working with Eagle FM as a silent DJ for six months,” he stated.

He is currently the programmes manager of the station after working for 4 years and also moderates the morning show “Kokroko” which the station picks from Peace FM in Accra.

Being a versatile presenter, he plays all forms of music be it reggae, highlife, gospel, countryside or any music that exist. Kwame Sefa Kayi and Komla Dumor “The Boss Player” now with BBC are his role models.

He expressed his heart felt gratitude to Samuel Ato Nkum former PRO of Cape Coast Polytechnic and Thomas Davies former manager of Eagle FM and all those who have helped him in diverse ways.

“Haven attended a Bible school, I always use the word of God to motivate my cherished listeners, that it is not over unless it is over,” he said.
