Until the mid-eighties, live band music was the toast of many music followers in the country. Those were the days when popular spots in Accra and many, many more became place for relations especially on weekends where good live Band Music were provided.
However, with time, every instrument that could be played manually was absorbed by technology and every sound hence became computerised.
The heavy influence of computerised sound in our Ghanaian Music, more or less killed the live Band rendezvous.
Most of the songs that eventually were realised later in the contrary lacked the spice and the flavour of live Band renditions.
Not too long, some up-and-coming musicians have dared themselves into playing live Band without the help of any technology jive.
Some have succeeded in pleasing the fans but others have woefully delivered and it is obvious that those who failed are cocooned in the computerised age.
In an attempt to bring back the ever popular time Band many industry faithful are ceiling the musician to shirk themselves off the heavy influence of computer in their works and learn to do something original when performing on the stage.
It is in this light that some media houses in the country have as part of their programming added live band performance to entertain their viewers and listeners.
Interestingly, the live Band is giving such a great momentum that soon a reality show is to be stayed hosting individuals playing the keyboard, guitar, the trumpet the drums live for the public.
The show which is yet to be launched promised to be very exciting taking us back to the good old days when the Ben Brakos, the Osibisas, the Ampofo Adjei's and other famous stars performed to the admiration of both the youth, and the adults.
The programme, Bands Alive, is yet to hit the screens. The program is to be staged on TV3 network, which has gained popularity for the promotion of reality shows in the country.
