Multi-talented musician, Michael Dwamena, and music producer and rights advocate, Faisal Helwani have been reported dead within a day of each other.
Michael Dwamena, whose works span highlife and hiplife hits and noted for his sleek voice, is said to have passed away in a Texas hospital in the USA after complaining of stomachache.
The ace musician who has created a niche for himself as top star in hiplife music, highlife and rock recently flew out of the country after touching down to trash out issues relating to his music agenda.
His current hit, Ngozi, enjoys a lot of airplay across the country.
His managers said he was in the country to finish up works on his video clip and the launch of his latest album “owo mo ntsi” literary translated a kind of way.
The report of his death has already reached his family who are yet to visit the States to bring home the corpse for burial.
Meanwhile, Music producer and rights advocate, Faisal Helwani has also been reported dead in Lebanon where he was flown for medical treatment. He died on Sunday.
The legendary composer, sound engineer and producer, described by his colleague, Carlos Sakyi as a man with varied interest in the music industry and whose singular contributions to the growth of music in Ghana is unsurpassed, has left a great void with his passing away.
Faisal recorded songs virtually across all Ghanaian languages and from all genres and worked with music greats as ET Mensah, Onipa Nua, Agya Koo Nimo and South Africa’s Hugh Masekala.
