An Assin-Fosu Magistrate's court on Tuesday fined John Aidoo, a driver six million cedis on his own plea for careless driving, failing to stop and negligently causing harm. Aidoo would serve 12 months imprisonment in default.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Akwasi Asafo Adjei told the court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay that on September 18, last year, Aidoo failed to stop when signalled by police personnel on duty at an accident spot on the Assin Foso road.

He said in the process Aidoo overtook a stationery vehicle and crashed into a KIA truck and two other vehicles injuring three people on board who were treated and discharged at the Saint Xavier Catholic Hospital at Assin Foso.
