The management of Ahafo project of Newmont Ghana Gold Limited on Wednesday organised a quiz competition on malaria prevention for four Senior High Schools in its operational area at Kenyasi to commemorate this year's celebration of World Malaria day.

Two students each from OLA Girls Senior High School at Kenyasi, Anglican Senior High at Yamfo, Gyamfi Kumanin Senior High at Wamahinso and Hwidiem Senior High School at Hwidiem participated in the competition.

Addressing the students before the competition, Mr Dan Michaelson, General Manager, Environment and Social Responsibility of Newmont, said organisation was committed to the welfare of its partner communities and was actively involved in the development of the people in its operational areas.

"This commitment has found expression in our participation in efforts to deal with the malaria menace by our continuous observation of the World Malaria day and participating in events that have the effect of dealing with preventive measures", he added.
