The dream of a young British woman with Ghanaian parentage to come home and invest as a result of moves by the government to attract investors into the country has been dashed and is on the verge of loosing $80,000.

The woman, Mrs. Genevieve Bekhti, also known as Nee Antwi-Nimoah has been handed a raw deal by Finali Limited, a real estate development company.

The Company, headed by Mr Kofi Gbedema and Mrs Esi Gbedema collected an amount of $130,000 from the Mrs Bekhti and the husband, Mr. Tayeb Bekti to sell a parcel of land at Airport Hills in Accra to them.

What is more is that the British woman has been brutally assaulted by Mr and Mrs. Gbedema for demanding her money from Finali Limited after the company decided not to sell the land after collecting the money.

Currently, the Nima Police is handling the matter and there are indications that Mr and Mrs Gbedema will be put before court very soon.

The Enquirer gathered that Mrs. Bekhti and her husband entered into agreement to purchase the said land from Finali Limited on February 5, this year.

After the agreement, the Enquirer was told that Finali Limited started playing games as far as documentation was concerned and finally the company demanded $500 from the British lady to clear the land.

It was gathered that Mrs. Bekhti told the company that her mother is in Ghana and was in position to supervise the clearing of the land but Mrs. Gbedema convinced Mrs Behki to do the clearing for her.

The Enquirer learnt that on July 30, Finali Limited wrote to the British woman in London that the whole deal was going to be reviewed but that was not to be, as the whole transaction was withdrawn on August 18, this year.

On August 22, this year, Mrs Bekhti wrote to Finali Limited accepting the withdrawal but demanded full refund with interest and other costs that were incurred during the transaction.

However, Finali Limited through a letter dated August 28, this year refused to accept the payment of the interest and that was accepted by Mrs Bekhti but she kept demanding he $130,000 from the company.

The Enquirer was told that Finali Limited, after pressure from Mrs Bekhti and the husband paid $50,000 out of the money and that was when the company started giving problems with the motive that the $80,000 would not be paid.

On September 15, this year, Mrs Bekhti, who had traveled from London, went to the office of Finali Limited at the Aviation House in Accra, to demand the rest of the money only to be told by Mr Gbedema that the company will not like to discuss the issue any more but Mrs Bekhti should rather see the company lawyer.

Not satisfied with the explanation, Mrs Bekhti made a complaint at the police headquarters, after which she went to her lawyer, picked a letter demanding the $80,000.

The Enquirer gathered that when she went to deliver the letter to Finali Limited, Mrs Gbedema assaulted her with the help of some the staff of the company and Mr.Gbedema on September 16, this year.

Mrs Behkti was jeered and booed at by the staff of Finali Limited that she had been beating. After the assault, Mrs. Gbedema also made a complaint to the Airport Police against Mrs Bekhti, who was invited by the police.

Mrs Bekhti not happy with the development, informed the British High Commission of her predicament and lodged a complaint to the Police Headquarters and it was directed that the Nima Divisional Police should take up the matter.

The Enquirer was told that Mr and Mrs agreed to pay the rest of the money and issued some cheques and also agreed to transfer part of the money to Mrs Bekhti at London but have so far refused to do so as at the time of filling this report.

When the Nima Divisional Police was contacted, the Commander in charge, Mr Awuni Awontogbui confirmed the story and said that Mr and Mrs Gbedemah will be put before court soon.

He said the Finali Limited nearly coerced Mrs Behkti to sign some bogus agreement that the money had been paid.
