Mrs. Emily Nyarko, a journalist of TV3 Network in Accra, has been adjudged the overall winner of the African Information Society Initiative-Global Media Partnership Award 2007 in the multimedia/web media category.

Out of over 50 applicants from 27 countries, Mrs Nyarko's story captioned: "Developing ICT Enabled Education - The Future for Ghana" was the most revealing in her category, a letter from the organisers received in Accra on Tuesday said.

Other African winners include, Bayero Agabi of Nigeria in the TV video category with the topic: "Why the Phones are not Bridging the Divide"; Chabi Godefroy Macaire of Benin also won the first prize in radio category and Bamuturaki Musinguzi of Uganda taking the first prize for the print category with his story "Taking ICT to Rural Communities."

All award winners have been given scholarships to participate in an ICT conference dubbed: "Third Global Knowledge Conference (GK3)" from December 11-13 2007 in Malaysia where they would receive their prizes.
