He made the call during a familiarization tour of the newly opened three star Mac-Dic Royal Plaza Hotel at Koforidua on Thursday. Mr Afram-Asiedu urged the management of the hotel to adopt measures that could help reduce HIV infections in the country by making condoms available in every room of the hotel.

He called on the people of the Eastern Region to invest in the area to help create employment for the youth, which would help reduce the rural-urban migration.

Daasebre (Dr) Oti Boateng, Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, called on organisations to host international conferences in Koforidua, so that hotels such as Mac-Dic Royal Plaza Hotel, which has all the facilities for such conferences could benefit and called on the people to also patronise the facility.

The Managing Director of the hotel, Nana Kofi Adjei Twinin said the first phase of the completed hotel has 40 rooms and a banquet hall. "It has two conference halls with all the latest equipment for international and local conferences, a gymnasium, a tennis court with flood lights, a restaurant, a night club, a salon and children's play ground", he said.
