Chiefs of the Edina Traditional Area on Sunday beat their counterparts from the Oguaa Traditional Area 1-0 to emerge winners of a special fun match played as part of activities marking their annual Bakatue Festival.

The match, which was played for only 20 minutes with 10 minutes in each half, was watched by a large crowd of enthusiastic citizens including Nana Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister, and Mr Frank Asmah, the Municipal Chief Executive.

After a goalless first half in which the two sides missed chances to score, Nana Kojo Conduah VI, Omanhene of Edina Traditional Area broke the deadlock to score the only goal in the 15th minute. The Oguaa Chiefs counter attacked and got one of their best chances to get the equaliser in the 18th minute, but the Omanhene Osabarimba Kwesi Ata II, who captained his team failed to score in a goalmouth scramble.
