Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) has presented cash and the company's branded souvenirs worth about GHC 10,000 to the chiefs and people of Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region, as part of its support towards the celebration of this year's Fofia Yam festival.

A press statement signed on Wednesday by Ms Mawuena Dumor, Corporate Services Executive, MTN Ghana Operating Unit, said the donation also included a Fixed Wireless Application Phone (FWAP machine) popularly known as "Space to Space" to be used to generate income for community development.

According to the release, Mr Kofi Yirenkyi, Key Accounts Manager of Ashanti and Bring Ahafo Sales and Distribution Division of MTN, presented the package to the Omanhene of Techiman, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV.

In his remarks during the presentation, Mr Yirenkyi said MTN was happy to associate itself with the festival to show the commitment of the company to the community in which it operated and recalled some of the activities undertaken by the company in the community.
